Diatomaceous Earth? Where do I put it?

natural dog repellent

I’m looking for safe flea killers and repellents. I see my dog, Sugar (female West Highland White Terrier. She’ll be 3 on September 10th.), scratch and bite herself occasionally and it makes me sad. Fleas are HORRIBLE. I know, I gave her a bath in the house before and fleas came in my room. The bites are just horrid. It’s torturous. They’re not in my room anymore. My dad bought some Raid flea repellent or something like that. I don’t want any fleas to bother her anymore.

NOTE: Sugar sleeps outside.

So I was looking for the natural, safe for pets and family, flea killers. I found Diatomaceous Earth. I was wondering, where do I put it? Can I put it in Sugar’s bed? Do I and can I put it on her skin and all through her fur?
I saw that K9 Advantix cause some dogs to have seizures so I don’t want to use that on her. Frontline plus has chemicals. So I was trying to look for something natural that won’t harm my dog.

She sleeps outside because my dad doesn’t want her indoors. He saw ‘Monsters Inside Me’ and saw the parasites that some people got from their pets and he doesn’t want any pets indoors. o-o

How do I keep the fleas off my 7 mo. old puppy?

natural dog repellent

I have 7 month old min. schnauzer but can’t manage to keep the fleas off or away from him. We have a larger older dog who has no fleas at all. It seems they all just jump on the puppy. This is round 2 of bathing him in flea shampoo, spraying him with a natural flea repellent and giving him a dose of front-line plus. However, the fleas just don’t want to leave. Is there something I’m missing here? If the backyard needs to be treated, then why haven’t the fleas latched on to the other dog? Anyone, please help. This is costing me a lot of cash, time and heartache. I have sprayed the house along with bedding and other furniture with the flea repellent as well. Would Capstar (I think its called) help in this situation? Thank you so much to everyone answering this.

Can anyone recommend a mosquito repellent for cats?

natural dog repellent

I am tending a neighborhood stray who had been injured in a fight. His biggest problem at the moment seems to be that the insects won’t leave him alone. Everything I’ve seen at the pet store is for dogs only.

I am open to natural recipes too, if anyone knows how to make them, but would prefer to have something I could put on the poor thing today. He’s scratching up a storm, and biting the fur off his tail. I’ve looked for fleas and haven’t found any, just some old scabs he keeps scratching open.

Bringing the cat indoors is not an option, unfortunately.

Is there a natural flea killer and repellent?

natural dog repellent

I have a dog and an indoor cat, and they both have fleas. We bathe the dog regularly, and we have started using a flea comb on both of them. The fleas are now in my area rug. We have used a spray in the past, but I had surgery in April, and my skin has become super sensitive. The last time we used the spray, I broke out in a rash. Is there anything I can use to spray on the furniture, carpet, and hardwood floors? What can I do to repel the fleas afterward? What is the safest and most cost-effective method?

Anyone know of a good homeopathic tick repellent for dogs?

natural dog repellent

We use Sentinel for heartworm and fleas, but this summer ticks have been a problem. She runs in a wooded area almost everyday. I really don’t want to give her any more ‘medication’ if I don’t have to. Would rather try a natural solution first. Any ideas?
