There is no magic spray or powder or anything else to keep away skunks. If you have an Skunk problem and you wish to get rid of them, they should be physically trapped and removed from the habitat. Either that, or physical barriers, such as fences (that go at least a foot underground) should be put in place as a means of skunk prevention.

Where I live, (Tampa, Fl) Skunks are trapped or shot due to the number of skunks that carrie rabies. Unless you really know what your doing never try to handle a wild skunk. They are mean and have sharp teeth and claws.

    Good luck.

You can buy deskunking shampoo at your local pet store. Tomato juice helps too. I don’t know about hydrogen peroxide, but try keeping the dog away from potentially dangerous wildlife. You do know that skunks are main carries of the rabies virus, don’t you? I hope your dog has been vaccinated. A bath with deskunking shampoo should help. Most pet stores carry it. I know Petco and Petsmart do. I’m sure hydrogen peroxide works just as well.

Get your self a couple of gallons of white vinegar, soak your pooch dow with one, wait a few minutes and rinse then shampoo.Should do it If not repeat. The only down fall of this is he may smell a bit like a pickle for awhile.LOL.make sure you don’t get it in his eyes and ears, just like you’d normally bathe him.
